Opposition activists picketed Russia’s embassy in Minsk

Riot militia detained “Young Front” activists Mikalai Dzyamidzenka and Marharyta Karol.

The young oppositionists tried to unfurl a banner near the Russia’s embassy in Minsk, Radio Svaboda reports.

Militiamen tried to take away the banner. They dragged Dzyamidzenka with the banner and then detain him. There’s no information about the text of the banner.

Militia officers called for riot militiamen who took the detained to the Tsentralny district militia department.

Mikalai Dzyamidzenka managed to tell Radio Svaboda the aim of the picket was attracting attention to the Day of Belarusian Military Glory, celebrated on September 8, and Belarus-Russia relations that threaten independence of our country.
