Lukashenka addressed the graduates of military schools of Belarus and Russia.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that in spite of attempts of pressing and blackmailing the country, the current political and economic model demonstrates its ability to meet challenges.

“The situation this year is complicated with economic instability. The countries without own energy resources have to take colossal efforts to secure their independence. We have seen the attempts of dictate and blackmail towards our country,” Alyaksandr Lukashenka noted, Interfax news agency reports.

He told addressing the military officers: “We see what is happening around our country, near our borders.” Lukashenka named one of the causes of the situation: “The reason is objective – new independent states, including Belarus, emerged on the world map; these states demanded a place for them.”

According to him, “Our state’s political and economic model demonstrates its ability to meet any challenges.”

The Belarusian ruler said the international situation remained difficult and controversial.

“We are witnesses of an aspiration to audit arrangements concerning post-war world order to serve to the interests of certain states,” Lukashenka noted.
