People’s Assembly coordinator detained in Baranavichy

Viktar Mezyak, a coordinator of the People’s Assembly in Baranavichy, was detained at 11:30 am, when he was pasting leaflets about the event on the advertising board.
A policeman came to Myazyak, said the activist must be taken to a police department, and called a police car, Radio Svaboda reports.
“The police office and I are waiting for a car in the yard in Parkavaya Street. I will be taken to a police department because I pasted a leaflet to the advertising pillar,” Viktar Mezyak said.
It has been the third detention for the People’s Assembly in Baranavichy. Activist Syarhei Auchynnikau was fined 525,000 rubles on September 22 for distributing leaflets near the aircraft repair plant.
On September 29, Viktar Tsyapin was detained for leaflets about the People’s Assembly.
The People’s Assembly is to be held in Minsk and regions on October 8.
