The KGB has refuted the information about the suicide of Major General Ihar Kuznyatsou, the head of the KGB National Security Institute.
“This is a blatant lie. Mr Ihar (Ihar Kuznyatsou – Interfax) is alive,” KGB spokesman Alyaksandr Antanovich told Interfax-West news agency on Monday commenting on the information on the Internet that Kuznyatsou shot himself dead with a hunting rifle.
Major General Kuznyatsou had led the KGB department in Minsk and the Minsk region before being appointed head of the National Security Institute.
The website charter97.org received information about the suicide of Kuznyatsou from its source, which said the case over the suicide was classified.
