The investigation on the case of Zakharanka prolonged till 24 December

The human rights activist Aleg Volchak received a notification about that from the Investigation Committee.
Aleg Volchak, who officially represents the interests of Youry Zakharanka family, says that it is a standard procedure – the investigation has been being extended every three months since the disappearance of Zakharanka, Euroradio reports.
The lawyer takes notice of this situation to continue for two more years:
- Until there comes the limitation period for this article. It is defined by the old Criminal Code – up to fifteen years. In September it was 13. So it can go on for two more years.
We would remind that Youry Zakharanka disappeared on 7 May 1999. According to a political immigrant and former head of investigatory isolation ward of Minsk number one Oleg Alkaeu, Youry Zakharanka was kidnapped and later shot on the order of the people close to Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
The fanily of Zakharanka – the wife and two daughters – have been living in Germany since 200, where they received a political asylum.
