Polatsk Saint Sophia Cathedral stands roofless (Photo)

Strong winds have damaged over 300 square meters of the iron roof.

A few hundred inhabited localities were left without power supply, BelaPAN reports referring to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Vistebsk Province was affected most. Several inhabited localities in Hrodna, Minsk and Mahilyou Provinces were left without electricity too. Repair works are being conducted now. 

The strong wind was brought to Belarus by "a southern  Baltic cyclone", Belarusian hydremeteorological centre reports.
