Pavel Sevyarynets: No trust in KGB

A politician does not believe the people detained by the KGB have relation to the blast in Vitebsk.

A lot of suspicious events have been unfolding around the KGB in the last few days. The death of colonel Alyaksandr Kazak, dismissal of Vadzim Zaitsau [the KGB chief] and the blast. Everything is kept in secret. There's no information about these events. One can only guess here, political prisoner Pavel Sevyarynets, the co-head of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party (BCD), said to charter97.org in an interview.

The politician was surprised to hear that the explosion near the KGB building was classified as hooliganism:

One more question is why the blast was classified as 'hooliganism'. As far as it goes about political activists, they are called extremists and terrorists. Yauhen Vaskovich received 7 years in prison for throwing a Molotov cocktail at the KGB building door. Punishment for 'hooliganism' is up to three years in prison. It is an evident discrepancy and political order.

Pavel Sevyarynets does not believe the people detained by the KGB are guilty:

I don't trust the information that an insane man was detained and that two other persons are guilty. There's no trust as long as this agency is called the KGB and Soviet traditions are still in use. Everything should be changed from the name and top officials to the very essence of the agency.
