Emanuelis Zingeris: Lukashenka is babbler

The chairman of the committee on foreign affairs of the Lithuanian Seimas comments on Belarusian dictator's insulting remarks about Lithuania.

Emanuelis Zingeris reminded that Lithuania expected a quick investigation of the incident and didn't suppose it would be carried out improperly. It doesn't mean politicians cannot call the incident a terrorist attack, Radio Svaboda reports.

“Even we didn't expect such a reaction to our right to express our concern about a possible threat to health and life of our people living in the territory of the embassy. This is just blabbering. Unfortunately, not of high quality. It is a manner of Lukashenka to use different words. His jargon words, as the prime minister said, demonstrate his low level of culture,” the politician says.

Zingeris says some of the embassy staff were in the embassy building at the moment of the incident and their cars were standing in the yard. The fact that the attack happened ahead of November 7 leaves no doubts that it has relation to the misanthropic ideology of communists.

“If a person want to relax, it is his affair how he does it. But if a person calls himself a president, it is much worse. We didn't link this incident to the actions of the Belarusian authorities. We just expressed a hope that the Belarusian authorities would investigate this serious incident. It is not two bunches of flowers, it is two Molotov cocktails. Mr Minister and I just supposed it was a terrorist attack. We didn't link this incident to the actions of the Belarusian authorities,” Emanuelis Zingeris said.

He also reminded about the policy of self-isolation conducted by official Minsk.

“Our policy is absolutely clear and open for a dialogue with the people of Belarus. We help the people who had to leave Belarus on political motives and live here. Lithuania's policy is very constructive. The decisions on Belarus, I mean opening borders, were far stronger than those on Kaliningrad region. Let him [Lukashenka] answer: why is there no open border between Lithuania and Belarus? Where did the policy of openness in relations proposed by us disappeared?” the Lithuanian politician said.
