Russia wants 2.5 million tons of petrol from Belarus

Russia named the condition for oil contract for 2013.

Russia intends to make Belarus to agree to oil supply to Russian market of 2-2.5 million tons of oil products made of Russian oil in 2013, and this is a condition for signing the petrol balance for the next year, as stated the Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak on November 15th. According to him, the negotiations under the contract for 2013 haven’t been finished yet.

At that the Russian Minister noted that the Russian market can do just fine without supply of the Belarusian petrol and can manage with the oil products of its own production, as Interfax reports. “We need them (supplies from Belarus) for additional guarantees and more stable situation,” explained Alexander Novak.
