Court withdrew the action on the “cubes case”

Mikhail Gulin and two volunteers who participated in the Going Public project were not proven guilty.

The administrative court proceedings against them were withdrawn. The decision was taken by the Minsk Central district’s court Tatsiana Tkachova, Radio Svaboda reports.

The artist Mikhail Gulin together with three volunteers and a journalist Tatsiana Gsurylchyk were detained at approximately 1 p.m. in October square in Minsk. On this days the guys were carrying out an artistic performance – they took big colored cubes to the capital’s squares and built different figures with them. The actions in Yakub Kolas and Nezalezhnastsi squares went without any problems, but in October square they all were detained by riot police and taken to the Central district’s police department. The artists and the volunteers spent seven hours there with their fingerprints taken. According to the participants of the action for refusing to give fingerprints they were beaten.
