Pyotr Prakapovich may be appointed new head of the Council for the Development of Entrepreneurship.
The information was confirmed by several sources in business circles, Business News agency reports.
A source says that in accordance with the latest version of the draft decree on the council renewal, the new council will consist of 23 members. There are plans to appoint Pyotr Prakapovich, Lukashenka's aide for economic issues, council chairman.
The source noted several variants of the council renewal were discussed. The possibility to extend it to 50 people was considered, but Lukashenka chose 23 members.
According to the source, “it is almost impossible” to gather 50 people together. He also said Triple general director Yuri Chizh, who was viewed as the most likely candidate to head the council, is not discussed as a probable chairperson.
