Two people died in unclear circumstances in the detention facility of the police department in the town of Staubtsy. Both were poisoned.

According to preliminary information, a man, 51, was taken to the detention facility of Staubtsy police department for disorderly conduct on December 7. On December 10, the man was found guilty of committing an administrative offence. A court sentenced him to five says in custody. As the man was already sentenced to 10 days in custody, but hasn't served his term yet, his total term made 15 days. The man was sent to the detention facility of the police department, Yezhednevnik reports.

A man, 24, was taken to the detention facility on December 11. He was charged with disorderly conduct, theft and disobeying a police officer. The man was found guilty the next day and sentenced to 10 days in custody.

On December 15, Saturday, the detainees were engaged in repair works on the request of the senior inspector police department and on permission of the deputy head of the police department. Policemen claim the detainees gave verbal agreement to work on the territory of the police department. However, no one can refute the words of the policemen. The detainees began to work at 10 a.m.

According to the information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the 51-year-old man suddenly felt unwell at 11: 58 a.m. An ambulance was called. The man was taken to hospital in Staubtsy, where he died at twenty past noon. The 24-year-old man was found unconscious on the stairs to the basement of the police building at 12:18 p.m. An ambulance was called. The man died in the ambulance at 12:38 p.m.

A post-mortem examination revealed that the detainees died of poisoning by an unknown agent that produces methemoglobin.
