Stanislau Shushkevich: Lukashenka ready for everything

Belarus's help in protection of Iranian nuclear facilities is a crime, the first head of  independent Belarus thinks.

”Our ruler showed long ago that he is ready for everything to stay afloat and patch financial holes. It's an ordinary thing that he sells weapons,” the first head of independent Belarus, Stanislau Shushkevich, said in an interview with charter97.org.

The politician says the golden times of arms trade ended for Lukashenka:

“He didn't trade recently, because no one wanted to buy his weapons. In the mid-2000s – 2010, Belarus was among world's top ten arms dealers. It is a well-known fact that the ruler deals with rogue states and has no scruples about selling weapons to them. I don't imagine it can surprise someone. It is an ordinary thing for an ordinary dictator.”

Protection of the military nuclear programme is a crime, Stanislau Shushkevich thinks:

”S-300 missile systems allow to defend important facilities from the air. Construction of a military nuclear facility is an action that contradicts international approaches and agreements. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has an anti-nuclear programme against those threatening with a nuclear bomb. The world is turbulent and supporting the nuclear programme with military, not peaceful aims, is a crime in the strict sense. I am not surprised that our regime does this.”

Israel is ready to launch a pre-emptive strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, the first head of independent Belarus says:

“The threat of a nuclear strike is increasing. The forces that will be ready for a pre-emptive attack on Iran will be supported in Israel.”
