Moscow photographers forbidden to hold a rally in support of their Belarusian colleagues

They were going to hold an action next to the Belarusian embassy in Moscow.

Moscow authorities considered the rally an intervention into the domestic issues of Belarus.

It was announced by the action’s declarant an independent journalist and photographer Viktoria Ivleva. Despite the prohibition, Ivleva says, the rally will take place on 5 December at 12 p.m. anyway, although it would be individual, Echo Moskvy reports.

The action of the Muskovites is meant to support the photographers  who are the participants of the Press Photo Belarus competition. We would remind that last week Belarusian customs officers confiscated couple dozen catalogues of the competition and decreed to burn them.
