Lukashenka’s “Space Odyssey” failed again

Belarusian’s satellite’s launching has been postponed again.

Once again launching of the Russian and Belarusian spacecrafts of remote sensing “Canopus B” and BKA, which had been rescheduled many times because of technical problems, is postponed again, Interfax-AVN is informed by a source in Russian aerospace industry. “Launching the spacecrafts in March is out of the question already, it would be good if the spacecrafts would be taken to the space launch complex in March. The new terms of launching are unknown yet,” the interlocutor said.

Spacecrafts’ orbital launching is planned to be made from the Baikonur Cosmodrome with the help of Soyuz-FG launch vehicle.

Canopus B satellite is constructed in the All-Russian Scientific and Research Institute of Electrical engineering and is aimed for remote sensing of the Earth. The satellite’s weight is about 400 kilograms and it is to work on a circular orbit at a height of 510 km.

The Belarusian spaceship (BKA) is analogous to Canopus B by its construction and tasks. The both satellites are to make a single system of remote sensing of the Earth.
