Ivan Shyla has written an address to the Republican Sanitary and Epidemiological Station of the Interior Affairs Ministry, and to the Prosecutor’s Office of Minsk.

In his letters Ivan Shyla underlines the following violations:

- full absence of furniture in the cell, which violates Article 25 of the internal regulations;

- law temperature in the cell and absence of ventilation;

- absence of sleeping accommodations and bed-clothes;

- unsatisfactory sanitary and hygienic condition of the cell which humiliates human dignity;

- insufficient lighting;

- ban on food parcels and no access to drinking water;

- absence of due medical aid and so on.

Shyla demands to recognize the incarceration conditions in the remand prison in Aktrestsin Street cruel, inhuman and humiliating human dignity, to carry out an inspection, and besides to close the Centre of offenders’ isolation until it is brought in line with the requirements of the law.
