Stanislau Shushkevich wasn’t allowed a trip abroad

Stanislau Shushkevich, the chairperson of the Supreme Council of the 12th summon, was taken off the train on 18 March at the Belarusian-Lithuanian border station Gudagay.

Customs officers told Stanislau Shushkevich he is not allowed to leave abroad, but didn’t explain why, as Radio Svaboda reports.

“I was told that I’ll get an explanation in Minsk. This band that rules in the country violates article 30 of the Constitution, it is not the law for them. Moreover, this is a violation of my economic rights, since I am not allowed to work in my country I have to earn my living abroad, and now this way is denied, too. This is sheer lawlessness,” Stanislau Shushkevich commented on the situation.

Recently a range of oppositional politicians, human rights activists and journalists were banned from leaving Belarus.
