Belarusian Embassy: EU is Europe’s last dictatorship

An odious article of the Pravda newspaper was uploaded to the website of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.

It appears that the Belarusian diplomatic mission accepted the odious evaluation given by the pro-communist edition to the Secretary General of the European Council and a range of Belarusian democratic activists, including the editor of charter97.org.

Below follow several quotations from the article:

“High European authorities impress with a new talent – the anti-Belarusian hysteria awakes their psychic abilities. Just like Thorbjørn Jagland, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, who spoke against “the cruelty of the Belarusian regime that suppresses the people” and said what he knew for sure: “Every morning he (Lukashenka) wakes up with one single thought - how to prolong his rule.” And, obviously, that is why Europe cannot make his regime reform. The only solution is sanctions and support of the “democratic” opposition. Even more – and here he got support from his colleague, representative of the Nordic Council Dagfinn Høybråten - the economic sanctions should be just a part of the Belarusian package. Generally speaking, the country should be isolated and the Ice Hockey World Championship should be re-scheduled.

But how did the politicians advocating the sanctions reason?

Commenting on the anti-Belarusian resolution that the PACE has adopted, press-secretary of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Andrei Savinykh said: “The report is a routine document based on questionable material and allegations drawn from the Internet. The author, Andres Herkel, the PACE Rapporteur for Belarus, has never visited our country.” Where does the oil for the anti-Belarusian fire come from? Alas, the answer is not new – from the local “democratic” opposition, bought by the West, who is responsible for provocative arrangements in Minsk and “information” about “fanaticisms” of the regime, and who is crying for an execution of its own country.

“While political prisoners are tortured in Belarusian jails, while a dictatorship is ruling in the center of Europe, Europe should enforce sanctions,” similar statements (this one in particular was made by opposition “democrat” Natallia Radzina during an international conference held right before the sanctions were imposed) are delivered by all demo-oppositionists to foreign “guardians” of Belarus. And the Internet is swarmed with their suggestions:

“All large enterprises should be sanctioned. Their goods must not reach the European Union countries. It would be best if no Belarusian goods at all, not the smallest pin, could reach Western countries.”

In other words, they are crying for a destruction of Belarus and its people, exactly what the West is trying to do.

Alas! The “civilized” Europe and USA left the law behind for a long time ago. Acting under the banners of human rights protection, they destroy entire nations and shed blood all over the planet. There is no way we can disagree with what an Internet user said: “The EU is Europe’s last dictatorship that has thrown bombs on millions.”
