Home of independent website editor raided

Ihar Kazmyarchak, an activist of Orsha-based youth association Union, said on the phone his home was raided by police.

The raid is connected with activity of the independent website www.orsha.eu. Ihar Kazmyarchak does not answer his phone. Local human rights activists went to Kazmyarchak's home, Radio Svaboda reports.

The website orsha.eu was launched some years ago to publish local news, including initiatives of youth organization Union, local democratic activists and opposition members.

The website published the materials about the place of execution of victims of Stalin repressions in Kabylyatskya Hara area, a planned picket to support Ales Byalyatski and opinion poll “What are you going to do on the election day on September 23?”
