On August 30, channel "Belarus-2" showed performances of candidates for "deputies" in Pinsk city constituency number 14. Aliaxandar Ramanovich, the candidate of the BPF, said in his speech that "elections" are merely formal; election commissions are formed opaque and from the members of the labor collectives; "deputies" are actually assigned; the authoritarian regime does not want to see opposition in the "parliament".
Then Ramanovich presented the so-called "people's program", which was developed by specialists with an alternative view on the country's development, says Human Rights Center "Viasna".
At the end of his speech, Aliaxandar Ramanovich said that he doesn’t want to participate in the electoral farce, and, if the political prisoners are not released, and the authorial style of governance is not changed, he will withdraw his candidacy.
Moreover, on August 30, during an emergency meeting, convened by Zhodino district election commission, was considered the application of candidate of the LDPB Aliaxandar Cherepok, who asked to cancel his registration with a simple phrase - "due to family circumstances".
The commission, unanimously, has voted in favor of recognition of the reason as valid and decided to make necessary changes in the ballots.
