Alexander Lukashenko demands to increase the export of potash fertilizers. “We have to make up for the last year by any means,” stated the head of the Belarusian stated during the working meeting with Director General of Belarusian Potash Company Valery Ivanov on September 10th.
According to him, despite the difficult beginning of this year, money wise the export falls back by 5% compared with the same period of the last year, but there are good few months ahead. “And I think that here we can pull up our capabilities. As for selling in physical terms, we also fall back a little,” said Alexander Lukashenko, as the presidential press service reports.
Alexander Lukashenko also wanted to know how sales volume ratio between Belarusian and Russian auctioneers of the company was defined. He noted that the Russians themselves insisted on the independent audit of the potash fertilizers production, and the parties agreed that depending on that the potash will be sold.
“How are you dealing with the issue? According to my information, the Russian are not eager to increase the export, which will be legal, of the Belarusian part of the fertilizers. I don’t really understand it, I would like you to explain it to me,” said Alexander Lukashenko.
The head of the state reminded that when appointing Valery Ivanov Director General of Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) he promised to contribute a lot of time to BPC work. The President also pointed at the focus at the production of mixed fertilizers while producing potash fertilizers, maybe on the basis of the potash plant, as well as at the realization phosphorus, nitrogenous, and potash fertilizers through the company.
According to Alexander Lukashenko Belarusian Potash Company has to improve its activity. “I see that some issues if not solved lost their relevance: there are no conflicts, not even controversial issues. But nevertheless, the work, and maybe even the structure of the work, of the company should be improved,” said the head of the state.
Valery Ivanov reported the results of BPC for eight months of this year. Director General acknowledged that the first quarter of the year was quite difficult for the company.
Belarusian Potash Company was founded in 2005. The auctioneers of the company are Belaruskali (45%), Uralkali (50%) and the Belarusian Railway (5%). The BPC’s share on the world market of potash fertilizers export takes up 40%.
