It was stated by Belarus Ambassador to Kazakhstan Valery Brylev
“It is a political issue and it is quite complicated. You know what kind of relations there were and what happen at our embassy, they broke windows. When it will all be transparent and clear, I think, it will all move along fast,” he said.
According to him, the question of Kyrgyzstan’s joining the CU is quite complicated for Belarus since Bishkek demands extradition of living in Belarus ex-president and his brother. “It, to say the least, upsets Belarusian party and when Kyrgyzstan talks about it: “We see Kyrgyzstan in the Customs Union, in the customs space.” They are our brothers, our friends, but there are nuances, which we have to solve first, and then move along,” pointed out the diplomat, as reports Tengrinews.kz.
The event plan on Kyrgyzstan’s joining the Customs Union was approved on September 18th during the session of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission. They also approved the line-up of the Working Group on this country’s membership in the Custom Union.
