Peter Baseika, a proxy of the parliamentary candidate Velry Karankevich, was detained by police from Khotimsk police department near the polling station 55.
“When I was suggested to leave the polling station 54 in Khotimsk, as Valery Karankevich’s proxy I decided to visit the polling station 55. On my way to the polling station I was stopped by police “ad testificandum”. After an hour of detention and having received the testimony of the commission members confirming that I didn’t put obstacles in the way of their work, I was taken home”, - Baseika told the “Viasna” human rights center.
We would remind that today in the morning Peter Beseika, which has an observer’s accreditation, was not allowed to observe the elections at the Lenin polling station 54 in Khotimsk. The reason for expelling the observer for the polling station was that the district commission of Lenin polling station 54 unanimously voted for that because of him putting obstacles in the way of the commission’s work.
