Belarusians are supposed to spend on clothes 171,305 Belarusian rubles per month.
Social standards offer a clear vision of how Belarusians should spend their money. Under the current norms of the living wage, expenses on clothes should make 20.3% of the total expenses, mojazarplata.by reports.
Taking into account the fact that the minimum wage is 843,870 Belarusian rubles per person per month, the average Belarusian is supposed to spend 171,305 rubles on clothes.
The most expensive pieces of clothing that may be bought within this sum are a hat (150,000 rubles), a scarf (from 100,000 rubles), three pairs of warm pantyhose Conte 280 DEN (48,700 rubles per pair).
A pair of synthetic between season boots will cost from 299,000 rubles and winter boots will cost from 369,000 rubles. One will have to save for two months to buy a new pair of footwear. To become an owner of a polyester coat (from 789,000 rubles), one should have started to put by since summer.
Women should wear the same pair of boots, shoes and trainees for five seasons.
The sum on clothes is obviously not enough update your wardrobe. The answer to the question how to plan your purchases can be found in regulation No. 112 “On Setting Minimum Wage” issued by the Council of Ministers Non February 1, 2011.
The document contains a list of items of clothing for men, women and children. In accordance with the document, Belarusians are not expected to buy clothes and footwear every year. Most articles of clothing should be worn for 3 – 6 years.
The clothes that women are allowed to buy more often include tights (7 pairs per year) and socks (4 pairs per year). Boots (a pair of winter and a pair of between season boots) should be bought once in five years. A winter coat must serve 7.5 years, an autumn coat must be worn for 6 years. A new bag can be bought once in 6 years.
Going shopping for winter accessories should be carefully planed: two hats are allowed for 5.7 years, a scarf for 3.8 years and two pairs of gloves for 3.2 years.
