OSCE PA President to arrive in Minsk on Sunday 10

Riccardo Migliori, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE, is expected to visit Belarus.

This statement was made by chairman of the “house of representatives” Uladzimir Andreichanka at a meeting with head of the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission Antonio Milososki on Thursday in Minsk, Interfax news agency reports.

“We received a letter from the OSCE PA President, who plans to arrive in Minsk this Sunday. The head of the OSCE PA short-term observation mission will also visit Minsk,” Andreichanka said.

We remind Lukashenka expressed his displeasure with the head of the OSCE PA observation mission at a meeting with Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov on August 16 in Minsk. “I think they could have found a person more informed about Belarus and the situation in the Republic of Belarus. We are closely looking into these positions and will give an appropriate reaction,” Lukashenka said.

In response, the OSCE PA put the Belarusian dictator in his place.

Chair of the OSCE PA Committee on Human Rights Matteo Mecacci is the right person to head the observation mission for the Belarusian “election”, OSCE PA spokesperson Neil Simon commented on Alyaksandr Lukashenka's remark.
