Belavia to resume flights to Egypt in October

The national air carrier Belavia will resume charter flights to Egypt in October.

Flights to Hurghada will be resumed to 18 October, while flights to Sharm el Sheikh will be started on 20 October. The flights will be operated using Boeing-737/300.

“The suspension of flights was the last resort. We and the tour operator that orders charter flights had to do it for the safety of our citizens,” Director General of Belavia Anatoly Gusarov said. The decision to recommence flights was made jointly with the tour operator (Tez Tour) after the situation in the resort areas of Egypt had normalized.

On 15 August the Belarusian Foreign Ministry advised Belarusian nationals against travelling to Egypt until the situation there improves. At the end of August Belavia suspended charter flights to Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh.
