Russia likely to supply less oil to Belarus than expected.
In 2013 Russia will export less oil to Belarus than planned, First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said at the plenary meeting of the 18th Belarusian Energy and Ecology Congress.
“Earlier I stated that we intended to export 23 million tonnes of oil from Russia, but most likely this volume will be lower for a number of reasons," said Vladimir Semashko.
In 2013, Russia and Belarus have different positions in part of the annual oil supply volumes. Russia offered 18.5 million tonnes per year. However, Belarus was willing to get a total of 23 million tonnes. In the end Belarus and Russia had to agree on a quarterly basis: Rosneft supplied Belarus with 5.75 million tonnes in Q1, 5.3 million tonnes in Q2 and 5.3 million tonnes in Q3. In Q4, according to the schedule approved by the Energy Ministry of Russia, Russia will supply 3.1 million tonnes of oil to Belarus via pipelines.
