Dinamo Mn fall to Vityaz Chekhov in SO

Dinamo Minsk lost 1-2 in shootout to Vitayz Chekhov on 17 October, the first match of the team’s four-game trip.

Grabbing the lead midway through the second period on Alexander Materukhin’s second goal with Dinamo Minsk the Belarusian team allowed the hosts to pull even with less than seven minutes left to play. The 1-1 draw on the scoreboard required extra time. Dinamo could end things early keeping a total control of the game in overtime. Vityaz goalie Ivan Lisutin had a lot of work in the extra period but came up big. He also stood strong in the shootout series that followed going 3-for-2 in the competition as Geoff Platt and Dmitry Meleshko failed to find the back of the net. Zbynek Irgl connected his attempt spoiling Ivan Lisutin’s perfect performance. Dmitry Shitikov made the game for the Chekhov team scoring the only goal for Vityaz in regulation and netting the decider in the shootout.

With 18 points after 16 games Dinamo Minsk remains last in the Western Conference. The Belarusian team will continue its road series with games against Ak Bars Kazan on 19 October, Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod on 21 October and Dynamo Moscow on 23 October.
