Maryna Adamovich: Europeans repeat the same mistake

The regime takes the news about reducing the EU blacklist as weakness of the opponent.

The European Union extended sanctions against representatives of the Belarusian regime for a year. The blacklist included 232 persons. It was reduced by 13 persons, most of them former judges and prosecutors, but 3 new names were added, Radio Racyja reports.

According to Maryna Adamovich, the wife of political prisoner Mikalai Statkevich, reducing the blacklist is a sign that lobbyists of the Belarusian regime strengthen their positions in Europe:

“Trends in the European policy in the last 18 months clearly reflect searches for 'grounds' to start a dialogue. Europeans repeat the same mistake again. They seem to use the carrot policy, because our authorities regard any step to lessen the earlier adopted decisions as the opponent's weakness.”

The most outrageous thing is that most of the people removed from the blacklist are prosecutors and judges, according to Maryna Adamovich.

“They resigned, but it doesn't mean they repent the crimes against Belarusian citizens they were involved in,” Maryna Adamovich thinks.

We remind that the EU sanctions were lifted from five companies of oligarch Peftiev and 13 persons, mostly former judges and prosecutors.
