Ihar Lohvinau to appeal against Ministry of Information's decision

A publisher says he won't give up.

According to BelaPAN news agency, Ihar Lohvinau, the founder and director of a printing company, said the printing company would send a letter to Belarusian minister of information Aleh Praliaskouski on October 7 asking him to revise the decision. If it brings no result, he will probably apply to a court. “The decision will be taken by our lawyers,” he added.

On September 23, sole proprietor Ihar Lohvinau received notification on revoking the publishing license signed by first deputy minister of information Liliya Ananich. The letter says the licence will be revoked “due to gross violations of the legislation on licensing”, namely publishing the album Belarus Press Photo 2011, the Ministry of Information says.
