Ales Makajeu will be put on trial

The entrepreneur will be put on trial for an event of Slutsk Military Rebellion’s commemoration.

Ales Makajeu received a subpoena, obliging him to show up at the court of Minsk’s Moscow district. He is charged with violating the article 23.34 of the Administrative Code “Violating of the procedure of organizing or holding a mass event or picketing”. The trial will take place on 23 December in the room number 135, a charter97.org’s correspondent reports.

We would remind that on 24 November Minsk activists were detained in the village of Hrozava while singing the anthem “God Almighty” as a sign of commemoration to the perished heroes. The commemoration event was on the occasion of the anniversary of Slutsk Military Rebellion and was authorized by the authorities, while the activist was responsible for event’s organization.

Ales Makajeu is the deputy chairman of the Together movement. In December 2012 he was already sentenced to a fine in the amount of 5 million roubles for organizing a commemoration meeting in the same village of Hrozava.
