Verdict to Dankou will be passed on 23 December

The sentence to the owner of the Dankoff Club Jury Dankou will be passed on 23 December at 10.00 in the court of Minsk’s Moscow district.

BelaPAN learnt the information from the Supreme Court.

We would remind that on 2 December the state prosecutor asked the court to sentence the businessman to nine years in prison and the confiscation of property.

Jury Dankou was detained on 4 September 2012. Three days later he was charged with violating part 2 of the article 171 of the Criminal Code (organizing prostitution or the creation of conditions for prostitution by an official by the means of power abuse).

Dankou, in particular, was charged with committing crimes against seven articles of the Criminal Code: tax evasion in January 2007 – September 2012, which caused damage to the state in an especially large amount of 918.1 million roubles; organization and maintenance of prostitution haunt in an entertainment institution as well as making profits out of the prostitution of others; intentional forging of documents; forging of property documents, selling of such documents; complicity to falsification of evidence on a civil case; involving women in prostitution with the purpose of making profit; storing with the purpose of advertising and advertising of pornographic materials as well as public demonstration of a pornographic video.

Jury Dankou’s trial has started on 18 September. The businessmen was charged with violating part 2 of the article 243, part 2 of the article 171, part 1 of the article 427, part one of the article 380, part 6 of the article 16, article 395, part 2 of the article 171-1, part 1 of the article 343 of the Criminal Code. It is unknown whether the charges were altered in the course of the trial for the trial was secretive.
