Belarus up one place to 81st in FIFA’s world ranking

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has released an updated world ranking.

In line with it, in December Belarus moved up one place to 81st and currently have 431 points, BelTA has learned.

Since the last ranking was published Belarus have played two friendlies. In Turkey they held Albania 0-0 and then lost to the Turkish side 1-2.

Spain have retained the first place in the ranking with 1,507 points, while Germany are second on 1,318 points. Argentina round up the top three with 1,251 points.

Ukraine (907), 18th, is the best of all countries of the former Soviet Union, while Russia are 22nd with 870 points.

The first 2014 FIFA ranking will be published on 16 January.
