Geoff Platt to play in KHL’s All-Star Game

Dinamo Minsk leading striker Geoff Platt will play in the All-Star Game of the Kontinental Hockey League which is due in Bratislava on 11 January 2014, the KHL official website informs.

Keeping in mind the interests of the fans of all KHL teams as well as those of professional ice hockey journalists, the League took a decision to include four more forwards into the teams of the West and the East. Geoff Platt from Dinamo Minsk and Jakub Klepis from Lev Praha will join the best of the West. The East will be reinforced by Denis Parshin from Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod and Yevgeny Kuznetsov from Traktor Chelyabinsk.

In the 2013-14 KHL season Geoff Platt has played 38 games for Dinamo Minsk, going with the team’s best 15 goals and 12 assists. Among the Belarusian representatives in the previous KHL All-Star Games were goalie Andrei Mezin, forwards Oleg Antonenko and Alexei Kalyuzhny.

With 36 points after 38 games in the 2013-14 KHL regular season Dinamo Minsk takes the last, 14th, place in the Western Conference. Dynamo Moscow tops the chart with 79 points after 37 games. With 52 points after 36 games Lokomotiv Yaroslavl goes eighth, the last position of the playoff zone.
