Dinamo Minsk downed in Novosibirsk

The 3-1 loss to Sibir Novosibirsk put an end to Dinamo Minsk’s three-game winning run on 2 December.

Three quick goals early in the opening period threw the Belarusians off their stride and predestined the fate of the game. Sibir blew the game open on Nikolai Lemtyugov’s goal at 0:47 on the scoreboard. Maxim Krivonozhkin and Jonas Enlund added two more and Dinamo Minsk was trailing 3-0 with the game being four minutes old. Conceding twice on two shots Lars Haugen was replaced by Yan Shelepnyov in the goal.

Shifting the focus on defense and killing Minsk's growing chances, the Novosibirsk team made sure their lead would stand. The Belarusians were only able to deny Mikko Koskinen to earn a shutout. Dinamo’s rookie forward Vitaly Kiryuschenkov broke Sibir goalie’s shutout bid at 11:13 of the final period. Sibir held the guests off the rest of the time, making 3-1 the final score.

Dinamo Minsk suffered their 14th defeat on the road in the 2013-14 KHL regular season. Dinamo Minsk goes with 33 points after 32 games. The team once again found itself in the last place of the Western Conference as Slovan Bratislava outplayed Severstal Cherepovets 3-2 later that day and replaced Minsk on the 13th position.

Dinamo’s road trip continues, with the next stop to be in Novokuznetsk on 4 December.
