Young Front member Tsianiuta fined for anti-alcohol leaflets

Young Front co-head Andrei Tsianiuta received a fined for distributing anti-alcohol information.

He was fined 25 penalty units, the Young Front press service reports.

The activist's case was heard by the administrative commission of Homel's Savetski district.

Activists Andrei Tsianiuta and Stanislau Bula were detained by police officers for distributing anti-alcohol leaflets in the town. They were taken to a police station of the Savetski district and charged with violating article 21.14 of the Code of Administrative Offences (violating the urban maintenance rules).

“It's an outrage,” Andrei Tsianiuta says. “25 penalty units for doing their work. It is the authorities who should be interested in distributing pubic service ads, anti-alcohol campaigns and a more healthy society. Today's decisions of the court show they are interested in the contrary.”

Hearing the case of Stanislau Bula was postponed, because he didn't have his ID. Stanislau says he doesn't hope the decision of the administrative commission will be in his favour.
