Vincuk Viachorka: Lukashenka looks for support at least from Georgia

Lukashenka’s desire to meet Saakashvili tells that the dictator needs to increase the list of contacts since there are very few of them left.

This is how a member of the organizational committee for creation of the party Belaruski Rukh, former chairman of BPF party Vincuk Viachorka commented charter97.org on Lukashenka’s desire to meet the Georgian president, which was expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Uladzimir Makei.

“The very fact of the public address tells that Lukashenka’s circle of contacts at the international arena has narrowed down and he needs to find support at least somewhere. In his turn, Saakashvili is also in a non-favorable situation, which has set recently in Georgia. That is why he does not pick and choose but grasps any straw”, - the politician noted.

Vincuk Viachorka emphasized that in the latest years of his presidency Mikhail Saakashvili has been expressing a sympathy towards Lukashenka and supported him at the international arena.

“The reputation of the Belarusian dictator among the majority of the forces that came to parliamentary power in Georgia, is very bad and it is not beneficial for Saakashvili to respond positively to the request for a visit. The main image issue on which Saakashvili’s policies were built was the pro-European choice. In this sense, it would be a loss to take a step back in this situation”. – the politician concluded.

We would remind that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Uladzimir Makei visited the presidential palace in Tbilisi in the evening on 12 February. He passed the Mikhail Saakashvili the desire of the Belarusian ruler to meet him.
