Rumas flies to beg for oil

The balance of oil shipments to Belarus will be discussed in Moscow by Siarhei Rumas and Russian vice-Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov.

They reported about that in the representation of the permanent committee of the Union State in Minsk.

A meeting of a group of high level of the council of ministers of the Union State will take place in Russia’s capital on 28 February. The main issue to be discussed is the balance project for fuel and energy resources for 2013, including the balance of oil shipments to Belarus.

There are also other issues of the countries’ bilateral relations on the agenda.

In particular it is the possibility of mutual waiving of the permissive system of transit through the territory of Belarus and Russia for cargo carriers of the two countries and the possibility of equal access of the manufacturers of agricultural products of the two countries to government order purchases.

Apart from that, the representatives of Belarus and Russia will discuss the financing of the construction of a nuclear plant in our country.

We would remind that the Belarusian authorities have not yet managed to reach an agreement on the volume of oil imports from Russia in 2013. The volume was only agreed for the first quarter. The Belarusian party requests 23 million tons of oil in 2013, the Russian one claimed the readiness to provide only 18.5 million tons considering the necessity of the pipeline BTS-2 load.
