Meeting is forbidden on dictator’s arrival in Baranavichy

Its organizer an entrepreneur and civic activist Mikalai Charnavus wanted to hold the meeting on 12 February.

It is planned that on that day Aliaksandr Lukashenka will visit the Baranavichy Cotton Processing Association. Mikalai Charnavus wanted to hold a meeting near the enterprise’s administrative building and bring the head of the state’s attention to the immensely high taxes, Euroradio reports.

But the response, signed by the deputy chairman of the city executive committee Dzmitry Kastsiukevich, states that Charnavus cannot act as an organizer of a mass event. The reason is that he was held responsible for violating the rules of holding a similar event in November last year.

We would remind that the activist was then fined for a charity lunch for the homeless at a marketplace in Baranavichy.
