Anatol Lyabedzka: Belarusian dictator's bank collapses

Declaring national mourning after the death of Hugo Chavez was caused by Lukashenka's personal grief.

Anatol Lyabedzka, the leader of the United Civil Party (UCP), talks to charter97.org about three days of mourning for the Venezuelan dictator.

“The matter is that the bank named 'Hugo' that kept assets of Belarusian officials and Lukashenka personally, has collapsed. I mean the financial projects relating to arms supplies and so on. For this reason, not only condolence expert Uladzimir Syamashka, but also chief 'cash keeper' Viktar Sheiman were sent to Caracas,” the politician noted.

He stressed that during Cavez's rule the Belarusian-Venezuelan relations were stable and favourable for Lukashenka, but their future is in limbo now.

“The country lost not only a strategic ally, but numerous projects that brought huge profits. That's why we see this reaction. This is personal grief of the dictator, but not of the people of Belarus. Even after the blast in the Minsk metro only one day of mourning was declared,” Anatol Lyabedzka said.

It should be reminded that Belarus declared national mourning after the death of Hugo Chavez.

On Lukashenka's order, state flags over his residence and other governmental buildings are flown at half-mast for three days. All TV channels and radios stations were recommended not to air entertainment shows.
