Vaukavysk resident dismissed for complaint to Shapira

A worker of an agricultural company has been dismissed for informing the head of the Hrodna regional executive committee about the cattle epidemic.

Cattle corpses were found by the local forestry farm workers near the village of Zaluchany on April 26, Nasha Niva newspaper reports. The unauthorised  burial, in other words a pile of dead animals, was made in a hurry. The animals had earmarks. This fact and a short distance from the village allow to suggest that the cattle corpses were brought there from the farm Lvouka.

A month before the cattle burial site was found, a resident of the Vaukavysk distirct told Siamion Shapira during a phone-in session about the cattle epidemic on Lvouka farm.

A commission was sent to the Vaukavysk district, but it failed to confirm the woman's words.

The woman, who had informed about the cattle epidemic, is reported to have been dismissed. A source among district officials says the employer recognised her voice. The information she told during the phone-in was declared false.
