Scandal with flags: IIHF agreed to “compromise”

Supporters will be allowed to take white-red-white flags to the games, but they will not be allowed to wave them.

A picket was held in Stockholm in support of white-red-white flags. Around 30 people participated in an action near the Global Arena in Stockholm – Belarusians and Swedes alike.

Human rights organizations handed out leaflets during the action, which stated that the International Ice Hockey Federation had listened to dictator Lukashenka and forbidden Belarusians to use their national flag, the head of Belsat’s newsroom Alaksej Dzikavitski reports from Stokholm.  

The information came from Swedish journalists during the picket that the International Ice Hockey Federation has allowed to take white-red-white flags to games, but they have only been allowed to be held on shoulders, not to be waved in the air.
