Dictatorship to collapse without new loans

The Belarusian authorities show an interest in a new loan programme of the EurAsEС Anti-Crisis Fund.

BelaPAN news agency learnt it from Alisher Mirzoyev, the head of the Fund's department for social and economic policy.

“Belarus shows interest in the new loan programme. But the new loan programme will be based on the results of the current stabilisation programme,” Alisher Mirzoyev said.

He thinks it is important to reach steady stabilisation in the Belarusian economy.

“If we come to a conclusion that stabilisation of the Belarusian economy is steady, we will be able to set other tasks as part of the new programme,” Mirzoyev said.

The Fund's representatives names structural reforms as a priority of the new programme.

“Such reforms, taking into consideration the reality of the Belarusian economy, will be effective only if macroeconomic stability is maintained. That is the reason why we pay much attention to the results of the current stabilisation programme for Belarus,” Mirzoyev stressed.
