A parade took place in Minsk on the occasion of the official “independence day”.
As distinguished guest the presidents of Laos and Venezuela - Choummaly Sayasone and Nicolas Maduro attended the parade, Interfax reports.
Over three thousand military personnel took part in the military parade and around 150 items of combat machinery.
Particularly, the event, the value of which is estimated by independent expert as 300 thousand dollars, saw the participation of the cadets of Minsk Suvorov military college, students of the Military Academy, military-technical faculty of the Belarusian National Technical University. Military personnel from the 12-th separate light armored guard brigade, 38th separate mobile guard brigade, 5th separate special service brigade, 86th and 85th communication brigades, 56th, 60th and 75th separate communication regiments, a consolidated company of ceremonial troops and a consolidated orchestra of the Armed Forces. Apart from that 170 troops of the airborne regiment from Pskov’s 76th landing division of Russia’ Armed Forces marches along the streets of Minsk, BelTA reports.
Following the military parade columns of machinery entered the avenue – trucks, tractors, combines, excavators, loaders, truck cranes, passenger busses, rock handlers and other equipment, which the authorities repeatedly claimed having problems selling.
The Belarusian ruler spoke to the parade’s participants and once again told about external threats and dictate.
