Russia's chief sanitary officer expresses concern about illegal goods coming from Poland through Belarus.
Illegal goods come into Russia from Poland across the Belarusian border, Gennady Onishchenko, head of Rospotrebnadzor, Russia's federal consumer rights watchdog, said Friday at a news conference.
“We have great suspicions that there is a high extent of deliveries from Poland, which, to put it mildly, do not meet the established requirements,” Mr. Onishchenko said. “This means that semi-legal, and frequently criminal, schemes are in use, in which some goods are brought into Poland where they assume signs of having allegedly been manufactured in Poland and then spread in the territory of Russia through Belarus.”
Earlier Rospotrebnadzor accused Belarus of exporting products of third countries, including Poland, to the Russian Federation as goods of Belarusian manufacture.
