Belarus drawn into Eurovision second semi-final

Belarus will perform in the second semi-final at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 8 May.

The Semi-Final Allocation Draw for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest took place at the City Hall in Copenhagen on 20 January. The first semi-final has 16 participants and the second one 15 contestants.

The first semi-final drew Sweden, Albania, Iceland, Russia, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Estonia, Belgium, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, San Marino, Portugal, Ukraine, the Netherlands.

The second semi-final will feature Norway, Israel, Georgia, Austria, Lithuania, Poland, Malta, F.Y.R.Macedonia, Finland, Ireland, Romania, Slovenia, Belarus, Greece, Switzerland.

The so-called Big 5 - Germany, Spain, France, the UK, Italy - and also the host country of Denmark have automatically qualified for the final. They will be joined by 20 more states – ten from each semi-final.

All in all, the forum will feature singers from 37 countries.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2014 is officially hosted in Copenhagen on May 6, 8 and 10 at the B&W Hallerne on Refshaleoen under the motto “Join Us”. The final will be held on 10 May 2014. The semi-finals are scheduled for 6 and 8 May. The Danish capital has already hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in 1964 and 2001.
