Vintsuk Viachorka: Yanukovych didn't get 15 billion for nothing

The current policy of the Ukrainian ruler has direct links to $15 billion he received from Putin.

Vintsuk Viachorka, a member of the organising committee of the Belarusian Movement and former chair of the BPF Party, said it in an interview with Radio Racyja.

“It's clear that 15 billion were not given to him for nothing. He received it on certain conditions – to control the country and drag into the swamp of post-Soviet authoritarianism and post-Soviet dictatorships. I don't want to guess how the Russian special services are involved, but what is happening today at the suggestion of Yanukovych and on Yanukovych's order obviously weakens the prospects for Ukraine as an independent European state.”

Vintsuk Viachorka noted many Ukrainians resist the actions by the authorities and attempts to turn Ukraine into a new version of the Lukashenka regime.

“Regrettably, the first bloody victims appeared during the resistance. We condole with the people of Ukraine,” the Belarusian politician said.

The special forces and the police started a brutal operation in Kyiv's Hrushevsky Street. The police attacked the barricades. Gunshots were heard during the attack. The police approached the buses, which were burnt two days ago. Videos showed protesters trying to escape and policemen catching and beating them.

At least three people are reported to have died in clashes. Two demonstrators, among them Belarusian activist Mikhail Zhyzneuski, were shot by the police. Another protester died at hospital after falling from the top of the stadium.
