Fixed tax for Minsk sole proprietors to be raised 18%

The Minsk authorities gave up the idea of raising the fixed tax for sole proprietors by 40%.

“Taking into account the public discussion, proposals from sole proprietors and unions of sole proprietors, the commission approved a new draft decision providing for increasing the fixed tax by 14-18%,” the Minsk city executive committee informs in a press release.

The commission met today to discuss the proposals on setting or changing the fixed tax for sole proprietors. The initial draft decision provided for a 40% increase, Interfax reports.

“Sole proprietors said the city authorities took their proposals into account,” the press service adds.

The Minsk union of sole traders and employers earlier said the proposal by the Minsk authorities on raising the fixed tax for sole proprietors by 40% were ungrounded. The union suggested limiting the increase to the inflation rate. The official inflation rate in 2013 was 16.5%.
