Unidentified people in Zhiguli car watch funeral of Belarusian hero of Maidan

Unidentified people in civilian clothes watched the funeral of Mikhail Zhyzneuski, who had been killed in Kyiv.

Mikhail Zhyzneuski, who had been killed on January 22, was buried yesterday in the village of Znamia Truda near Homel. The funeral was scheduled for 12:00 noon, but a car with his body crossed the Belarusian border only at 19:00.

About 40 people, Mikhail's relatives, activists from Homel and Minsk and journalists, attended the funeral, Belsat TV reports.

The funeral took place in the evening in the light of car lamps and camera lights.

The road police stopped a few cars returning from the cemetery to check documents. Plainclothes men stood near a road policeman during the checks.

A Zhiguli car appeared at the cemetery before the funeral. Activists wanted to ask who came and why no one got out of the car. But the car left the cemetery when the activists came closer. The same car was noticed at the end of the village.

Mikhail Zhyzneuski, who would have marked his 26th birthday on January 26, died of a gunshot wound to the heart during clashes in Kyiv's Hrushevsky Street on January 22.
