Excise duties on alcohol and tobacco will be raised on February 1.
The cost of excise stamps for alcohol and tobacco products will grow 50% on February 1, 2014. The decision was approved the regulation No. 6 issued by the Ministry of Economy on January 24, 2014, and published on the National Legal Internet Portal, BelaPAN news agency reports.
Excise stamps on alcohol and tobacco will cost 460 rubles and 180 rubles respectively.
The previous 20% increase was on July 1, 2013.
We remind that Russian finance minister Anton Siluanov said that Belarus should raise cigarette prices to the EU level.
Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan plan to discuss a higher rate of increasing excise duties on tobacco products.
